Environmental Protection

Environmental protection is becoming a larger focus as our generation becomes more knowlegable about the destruction that humans have on our environment. Rain forests are being chopped down to make way for grazing, streams are being polluted with sediments from developments, and species are becoming extinct.

In Canada, we have the Environmental Protection Act. It is "an Act respecting pollution prevention and the protection of the environment and human health in order to contribute to sustainable development."

Other acts such as the Fisheries Act and the Wildlife Act help protect fish and wildlife, including nests and upstream watercourses, from environmental degredation from developments.
